There is a rapid increase in the installed capacity of offshore wind power plants (WPPs) worldwide, and trend will continue context recent EU energy crisis Ukraine war. As share increases systems, it essential that WPPs can stay connected with grid during different operational events provide ancillary services. Recent research has identified Phase Locked Loop (PLL) converter control as contributing factor to instabilities driven by large-signal disturbances (i.e. severe faults). This type instability referred grid-synchronisation stability (GSS). In light this, codes are being revised secure connection specify services need be provided. To study GSS, model turbine (WT) system conditions accurately. However, actual WT models often unavailable, black-boxed, or computationally too heavy detail. Thus, simplified reduced-order (ROM) resembling behaviour hour. paper presents an improved considers systematic approach modelling misalignment PLL angle states. Moreover, time-varying parameters step changes initial states after fault triggering, which otherwise neglected present literature. Our focus this propose novel ROM demonstrate its effectiveness for offline studies. Based on transient studies, correctly tracks grid-angle post disturbances, trajectory good match compared detailed simulation mode time domain.
